Hey Neil, they all come from the same "company" using different names and jobs. The links in the main article points to several websites that give further information.

One real big clue that it isn't legit is that all these emails follow the same format, also you'll notice that they usually add a space after your name— this is from the automated process they use to paste thousands of names into these emails. Finally, a huge tell is that the offer is too good to be true. My mother always used to say that "if it looks too good to be true it is" and while that isn't right 100% of the time it is right 99% of the time. At the very least when something looks amazing you need to do the homework and prove to yourself that the offer is real (which it looks like you're doing so that is great).

I got an email from World Voice News asking if I wanted to be a reporter with them. Well, maybe it's not a real job, but: what do you know? Supposing I gave legit info and nothing sensitive, would I ever get anything good out of it? So many of the posts here just mention letters from "scammers" and don't explain how the recipient knows that, where I can find more, etc. Thanks.

I received almost identical emails for an Administrative Assistant position working for "Worldvoice.com" which used to be another phishing site. I removed my resume from Career Builder and today I received another one from Scout2007- courtesy of a "Michael Kimble." It would appear that once they get our information from Careerbuilder, we are stuck receiving these bogus offers. Is there anything I can do to stop them? Thanks!!!

Dear NAME,

I have recently had the opportunity to review the resume you posted online. After an initial review I have determined that your resume indicates skills and experiences that may qualify you for an Administrative Assistant position we currently have open.

Scout provides athletes, coaches and recruiters with an unequalled opportunity to catalog and view important statistics, game results, and showcase the abilities of athletes that are seeking to create more exposure for themselves and reach the next level of competition. The scale of the Scout network allows athletes to market their abilities into much larger geographical areas giving them the ability to earn national recognition.

As an Administrative Assistant with Scout you will be responsible for organizing reports and documents of our Account Executives and Public Relations Representatives. Successful candidates for the position must have knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs and have an extensive background on the Internet. Candidates for this Administrative Assistant position should have at least two years of similar experience or an A.A. degree in a related field of expertise.

As an Administrative Assistant with Scout you will be paid a highly competitive salary based upon qualifications and previous work experience. Additional benefits provided to our Administrative Assistants are:

* $35k-$52K Annual Salary
* Health Insurance
* Vision Plan
* Vacation Package
* Fast Track Advancement Program

NAME, If you feel that the skills you possess make you an eligible candidate for this position you may click on the link below to receive more information or to apply. The link may be copied into your web browser if it is not functioning properly.

http://humanresourcesscout2007.com/c...aspx?J=XXXXX

Please respond promptly if you have a genuine interest in the position. Interviews will be scheduled within 1-2 days of receipt of your online application.

I removed my resume from Careerbuilder. But, before I did, when I received these fradulent emails for non-existent job offers, I would email them back.

The name that shows up in their inbox (from a hotmail account I use for crap such as this) is "You AreanIdiot". I then proceed to tell them their websites look about as professional as something my 13 year old nephew would design, and I berate them for trying to pull this crap on unsuspecting people.

I then inform them I'm turning the information over to the AG of IL. I'm having so much fun messing with them, I think I will publish another "resume" on Careerbuilder, just to harass them. Sometimes, in the subject line I write "This sounds like an awesome...", and then, in the body of the email, I write "SCAM".

If the English is really poor, I tell them to go brush up on their English/grammatical skills, and try back in a couple of months...maybe I'll be struck with a case of the "stupids" and take them up on their scheme. I'm sure they hate me, especially when I ask them if they are "complete morons".

I responded to the eBandSearch one, and a telemarketer type person actually called me and asked me a bunch of legitimate interview-type questions. He then sent me an e-mail to fillout an online application. But when i tried to sign in to the website, i kept getting errors. I guess it's a good thing now that i find out it's a scam :( I really wanted a job

I have also gotten the same scam comeon from goodgradesnow. My question is this: Assumming someone did answer their email, what would happen? Would they try to obtain your Social Security Number? Would they try to get you to pay some sort of upfront fee?.
Does anyone know? Has anyone responded and investigated what they try to obtain from you?
